About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cable Installation Specialist to join our team at Manpower Services Canada Limit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Maintenance
    • Install trunking systems, circuits, and equipment to support telecommunications services.
    • Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience
    • Operate and maintain coaxial line, fibre optics, and single line equipment to support telecommunications services.
  • Work Site Environment
    • Work in confined spaces, including poles, ladders, and other support structures.
  • Task Management
    • Determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble in telecommunications systems.
    • Test equipment to locate transmission faults and identify areas for improvement.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on telecommunications installation and maintenance procedures.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Hold a certificate or diploma in a related field, such as telecommunications or electrical engineering.
    • Have at least 2 years of experience in telecommunications installation and maintenance.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to distinguish between colors.
    • Physical ability to climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
    • Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
    • Reliability and efficiency in completing tasks and meeting deadlines.
