Maintenance Technician

Position Overview
This position will report directly to the Capital Projects/Facility Manager and be responsible for the routine maintenance and repairs of all Churchill Health Centre property and equipment. Recommend appropriate repairs or maintenance plan of action when tasks or assignments appear to be beyond local capacity. Log repairs, notes and reports potential or new repairs. Assist in preventative maintenance program.
Experience
- Previous experience working as a part of a maintenance team is an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Minimum Grade twelve education or equivalency is required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- A valid Driver's License is necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on all building, equipment and grounds owned and operated by the Churchill Health Centre.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices and environment.
- Working knowledge of Fire and Building Codes.
- Pro-active problem-solving skills, and demonstrated ability to operate on own initiative.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Must be available to take twenty-four hour on-call.
- Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Understanding of confidentiality and its importance.
Physical Requirements
- Possible heavy lifting.
- Possible posture and muscle problems.
- Possible exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals.
- Other demands as it pertains to position.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases.
- Extreme outside weather conditions.
