Clinical Research Analyst

Position Overview
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is looking for two (2) dedicated, full-time Research Analysts to contribute to a Health Canada regulated human laboratory study focused on cannabis edibles and driving simulation. Under the guidance of the study lead and Laboratory Head, your primary responsibilities will encompass:
- Recruiting, screening, obtaining consent, and following up with study participants.
- Collecting data and maintaining databases.
- Preparing and managing participant research documentation.
- Assisting with submissions to ethics boards and other regulatory bodies.
- Conducting data analysis and preparing presentations and scholarly articles.
- Providing consistent updates to the Principal Investigator/Lab Head and/or project coordinator.
- Supporting the research team with various research-related tasks.
This role will involve collaboration with scientists and stakeholders from diverse research backgrounds, necessitating a strong passion for translational science. You will be part of a workplace that values diversity and promotes teamwork. A background in health-related research is essential, and the ideal candidate will be capable of performing daily tasks with minimal oversight.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, or a related discipline, complemented by at least one (1) year of relevant research experience. Prior experience in conducting human research, such as clinical trials or laboratory experiments, is mandatory. Experience in working with human participants, including recruitment and administering standardized clinical interviews for DSM-IV or DSM-5 (SCID-IV or -5) and other clinical assessment tools, is also required. Familiarity with cannabis and/or driving simulation research is considered advantageous. Experience in assisting with Research Ethics Board submissions and Clinical Trials Application preparation (or similar regulatory processes) is a plus. Previous experience in the mental health and/or substance use health sector is beneficial. This position demands exceptional interpersonal skills, well-honed critical thinking abilities, adaptability, and initiative. Candidates must be able to convey complex concepts in straightforward language, both verbally and in writing. A strong capacity for self-directed learning and teamwork, along with a willingness to mentor other team members, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work effectively with individuals from various backgrounds.
