Job Title: Sr. Manager, Data Science

Job Summary:

Cineplex is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Manager, Data Science to join our Data Insights & Monetization leadership team. The successful candidate will play a key role in evolving our data science capabilities, managing a high-performing team, and leading the enablement of best practices and latest innovation across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:Strategy & Thought Leadership
  • Develop and evolve the Data Science vision, strategy, and roadmap in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Act as the Data Science and Machine Learning subject matter expert with a deep understanding of models/algorithms, data architecture, business processes/operating models, as well as technology integrations to deliver value for the organization.
  • Establish a Data Science Community of Practice within Cineplex to facilitate the sharing of standard models and capabilities, best practices, and emerging industry-leading innovation.
People Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and develop a team of Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to ensure continuous learning and effective resource management.
  • Coach, mentor, and upskill team members to support their personal and professional career goals.
  • Set clear and measurable goals and objectives that are aligned with the organization's strategic priorities, as a team and individual team members.
Delivery & Collaboration
  • Responsible for the timely delivery of Data Science projects and roadmap, including operationalizing models into production for business use.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their needs and communicate findings/solutions to influence business decision-making.
  • Communicate overall program milestones, accomplishments, learnings, and opportunities to foster a data-driven culture.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor/Master's in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related technical specialty.
  • 7+ years' experience in data science with demonstrated experience of delivering impactful solutions into operational processes.
  • 3+ years' experience of managing a team of data scientists.
  • Experience in data cloud technologies (i.e. Azure, Databricks, Snowflake).
