Director of Engineering

AECOM's Transportation practice is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Engineering to lead our Transit and Rail group in Montreal. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:- Leading the engineering design for major projects and pursuits
- Managing and growing the transit and rail business across Canada
- Collaborating with the North American-wide freight and transit rail market sector leadership
- Reporting on KPIs and tracking project performance
- Developing client and partner relationships
- Recruiting new staff and managing engineering staff
- Managing projects and leading the engineering effort on major projects
- Managing sub-contractors and suppliers
- Supporting the ISO quality process and demonstrating leadership in Health, Safety, and Environment
- BA/BS + 10 years of experience, including a minimum of four years of leadership
- PMP or PEng or MBA or equivalent experience
- Experience as a project director and/or project manager on projects/programs with capital costs of > CAD$1,000,000
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience
- Staff management experience
- Experience developing and implementing successful business plans/strategies
- Experience in transit and freight rail engineering, including AREMA-based heavy-rail signal design
- In-depth knowledge of applicable laws, standards, and regulations pertaining to railroad and transit signal systems and highway-rail grade crossing warning systems
- Bilingual French and English speaking as a preference
