Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, repair, and replace mechanical systems and associated equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct field inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and ensure safe and proper operation.
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities, respond to malfunctions, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Anticipate problems and identify opportunities for improvement to enhance overall plant efficiency.
  • Operate machining tools to fabricate parts and perform preventative maintenance work on all site mechanical equipment.
  • Consult manufacturers' manuals to determine maintenance procedures and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of maintenance activities and meet business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a heavy industrial / manufacturing environment.
  • Valid interprovincial or Red Seal Millwright ticket.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and perform all technical aspects of the job using the appropriate tools or systems.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy loads, sometimes 75+ lbs.
  • Able to work inside and outside in year-round weather conditions.
  • Requires lifting, kneeling, bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling, working at elevated heights, at times in tight and awkward positions.
