Role Overview:
As the Manager of Financial Strategy for People Operations, you will oversee the financial aspects of reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis on a global scale for the People Operations sector. This position will also provide financial insights for managing costs and initiatives related to People Operations.
Your success in this role will depend on your ability to collaborate closely with leaders in the People Operations Department and establish strong partnerships with Finance teams across the organization. You will play a crucial role in the proactive management of budgets, driving operational enhancements, and identifying opportunities for efficiency and accuracy in financial practices across various business divisions.
This position will report to the Senior Director of HR Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting, preparing detailed cost center expenditure reports and overseeing invoices for all People Operations cost centers, as well as consolidated reporting for total People expenditure across the organization.
- Engage actively in the annual review processes for short/long-term incentives and salary adjustments, including cost analysis, reporting, and project support.
- Assess the financial implications of People programs, support daily operations, conduct monthly reconciliations, monitor actual costs against plans, and perform financial analyses as required.
- Collaborate with Corporate Finance, IT, and People Operations Centers of Excellence to ensure seamless integration with financial systems and optimize business processes.
- Prepare operational reports, including headcount and Quarterly Business Review reports.
- Assist with financial analysis for special projects within People Operations and lead initiatives for process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting designation is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant finance experience, with proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, variance analysis, forecasting, and month-end closing processes.
- Experience with benefits-related costing and budgeting is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale projects across multiple functions with various stakeholders.
- Strong capability to collaborate across functions, business divisions, and geographical locations; experience in a matrix organization is beneficial.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and adeptness in navigating financial reporting systems.
- Strong analytical mindset with a solid understanding of business processes.
- Proven ability to work with detailed information while effectively communicating the broader context to non-financial stakeholders.
