**Job Summary**

The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a qualified Kindergarten Teacher to join our team at Liidlii Kue Elementary School. As a Kindergarten Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters the social, emotional, and academic growth of our students.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of our students
  • Establish and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver curriculum
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure student success

**Requirements**

  • Must hold, or be eligible for, a Northwest Territories Professional Teaching Certificate
  • Experience in Junior Kindergarten to Grade Six curricula
  • Ability to work as a team member in planning, delivery, and assessment of programs and students
  • Demonstrate a holistic, inter-disciplinary approach to teaching in an inclusive classroom
  • Ability to work with students in multi-level situations
  • Training and teaching experience in a cross-cultural, classroom situation
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with the Northwest Territories integrated play-based Kindergarten Curriculum
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with Daily 5, Differentiated Instruction, and Self Regulation
