About the Role

We're seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer - Mining Specialist to join our Mining Team in Brampton, Sudbury, North Bay, Thompson, Brampton, St John, or Thunder Bay office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems for mining projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Oversee the development of design concepts by designers and ensure proper application and execution.
  • Verify designer work quality regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings.
  • Apply EXP's risk management practices of electrical engineering.
  • Collaborate with team members to seek the best solutions.
  • Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.
  • Execute complex electrical designs with conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination.
  • Perform front-end loading of Electrical systems for projects.
  • Contribute to revisions of EXP's design standards and master specifications.
  • Evaluate Value Engineering (cost cutting) items with respect to our level of risk.
  • Edit and develop the basis of design narratives documenting the project scope.
  • Develop electrical one-lines, load lists, area classifications, etc.
  • Participate in HAZOP, PHA, safety reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an Accredited University.
  • EIT or Registered.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the mining or industrial industry.
