Job Summary

HealthPRO Heritage is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in an inpatient program setting. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with communication and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients to determine the impact of their communication and swallowing disorders on their daily lives.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address patients' communication and swallowing needs.
  • Conduct and document thorough assessments of patients to determine and diagnose communicative deficits and equipment needs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Enter progress notes in patients' records following each treatment session.
  • Revise treatment plans as needed based on patient progress.
  • Document the course of treatment in a clear and concise discharge summary.
  • Orient patients to program services and treatment procedures.
  • Work with nursing staff, patients, and families to maximize patients' use of functional abilities.
  • Provide education to patients and families on therapeutic procedures to be continued at home following discharge.
  • Assist in the referral process when patients require additional services following discharge.
  • Participate in rehabilitation team conferences to discuss patient progress, problems, or needs.
  • Attend and participate in other department meetings as required.
  • Access continuing education opportunities to maintain clinical currency.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Promote the programs and services of HealthPRO Heritage through interactions with the community.
  • Act in compliance with regulatory and professional standards and guidelines.
  • Adhere to facility policies and procedures and participate in quality improvement and safety programs.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) credential offered by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Valid state Speech Language Pathology licensure.
  • Ongoing continuing education and professional development.
