Job Title: Senior Technical Engineer

At Morson Canada, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical evaluations and advice, solving complex problems, and coordinating technical work in support of the commissioning, operation, and maintenance of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical evaluations and advice to support the commissioning, operation, and maintenance of our facilities.
  • Solve complex problems and coordinate technical work to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Assess and evaluate problems, and recommend initial disposition with approval from personnel.
  • Maintain and update operating and other specified departmental procedures.
  • Prepare reports to provide information and data in answer to external requests or for historical purposes.
  • Review proposals received from internal or external sources related to assigned area.
  • Prepare specifications for purchasing requisitions for material, services, and equipment.
  • Recommend research and development programs to improve equipment, system reliability, or performance.
  • Participate in training programs to further own development and assist in the development of others.
Qualifications:
  • Requires a knowledge of physics, chemistry, metallurgy, mathematics, electricity, engineering, and economics.
  • This knowledge is typically acquired through a four-year university education in an appropriate engineering field or equivalent education.
Experience:
  • Requires training and experience in the design, development, or operation of a nuclear facility.
  • Experience solving problems, providing guidance, and making recommendations during the design and operation of a nuclear facility.
Supplementary Notes:
  • Knowledge of Fire Protection engineering and economics is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Fire Hazard Assessment, National Building Code of Canada, and CSA N293/N393 is considered an asset.
