Job Title: Senior Technical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Engineer to join our team at Rodan Energy Solutions.

Job Summary

The Senior Technical Engineer will be responsible for providing technical evaluations and advice, solving problems, and coordinating technical work as required, in support of the commissioning, operation, and maintenance of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical evaluations and advice to support the commissioning, operation, and maintenance of our facilities.
  • Solve complex problems and coordinate technical work as required.
  • Assess, evaluate, and recommend initial disposition of problems as requiring further review and investigation.
  • Prepare and submit proposals, including cost justification and financial evaluations, for approval and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including equipment specifications, engineering calculations, installation, testing, operating, and maintenance procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments and organizations to arrange for tests and provide documentation as required.
  • Stay up-to-date with new developments in the field and incorporate them into department equipment or operation.
  • Develop and maintain operating and other specified department divisional procedures.
  • Prepare reports to provide information and data in answer to external requests or for historical purposes.
  • Initiate studies or investigations where opportunities for improvement are apparent.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physics, chemistry, metallurgy, mathematics, electricity, engineering, and economics, with advanced knowledge of one or more of these subjects. They will also have experience in the design, development, or operation of a nuclear facility or in an industrial environment associated with the design, development, operation, or maintenance of industrial systems and equipment.

A four-year university education in an appropriate engineering field or equivalent level of education is required. The candidate will also have experience in solving problems, providing advice and guidance, initiating developmental studies, and making recommendations during the design, commissioning, and operation of a nuclear facility.

Familiarity with Fire Protection, engineering, and economics is considered an asset, as is knowledge of Fire Hazard Assessment, Fire Safe Showdown Assessment, National Building Code of Canada, National Fire Code of Canada, and CSA N/N.
