The Water Security Agency is on the lookout for a Director of Hydrological Science to lead the Science and Knowledge unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Hydrological Sciences unit, ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of the hydrometric network and database.
  • Forecast stream flows and monitor river and lake stages.
  • Plan operations for major provincial water systems.
  • Provide professional engineering services in hydrology, watershed modeling, and hydraulic analysis.

This role involves offering expert engineering guidance and leadership in the development, execution, and ongoing evaluation of related programs and activities. The Director will supervise a team of professional engineers, engineering technologists, and support staff to deliver essential services.

Additionally, the Director will supply the necessary engineering expertise to various governmental levels, associated agencies, industry stakeholders, and the public, ensuring the implementation of best practices in managing the province's water resources.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Engineering or a related field, preferably with a master's degree in Hydrology or Hydrogeology.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain P.Eng. or P.Geo. designation from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in a related field.
