Who are you?

You are an experienced Construction Cost Estimator with a focus on infrastructure projects, possessing at least 7 years of post-graduate experience, and are looking for your next career advancement or currently hold a similar position in a comparable setting.

Role Responsibilities

As a Senior Estimator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing construction cost estimates for significant infrastructure projects from initial feasibility/concept design through to detailed design (pre-tender estimates).
  • Offering cost evaluations of various options during project Optioneering phases.
  • Preparing cost reconciliation estimates along with justifications to present to project clients and key stakeholders.
  • Participating in value engineering sessions to pinpoint cost-saving opportunities and optimal solutions for clients.
  • Overseeing the development, validation, and management of the Target Price within an Integrated Project Team.
  • Engaging in probabilistic risk assessment workshops to determine contingency provisions and conduct Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA).
  • Advising clients on capital and operational expenditure (OPEX) aspects of projects, including operation and maintenance, life cycle costs, and whole life costs.
  • Creating cost benchmarks for validation and target-setting on major infrastructure initiatives.
  • Actively collaborating with project clients, key stakeholders, contractors, and consultants throughout all project phases.
  • Working closely with high-performing project teams to ensure expectations are effectively managed and client objectives are met.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in cost/claims negotiations with (sub)contractors or working for a General Contractor is advantageous.
  • Background as an estimator in the aviation sector is a plus.
  • Experience in developing, validating, and managing Target Price in a collaborative environment is beneficial.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying / Civil Engineering / Construction Management or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in cost estimating roles across pre-contract/post-contract phases of infrastructure projects.
  • Membership in professional organizations such as CIQS / RICS / AACE is a plus.
  • Proficiency with estimating software utilized in major civil engineering projects.
