Pharmacist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. As a Pharmacist in our Long Term Care facility, you will play a vital role in providing pharmaceutical care to patients and ensuring the highest therapeutic standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure accurate and timely medication dispensing.
  • Complete daily tasks in accordance with workplace policies and procedures.
  • Consult with management on unresolved issues and provide exceptional customer care to patients.
  • Maintain accurate and organized resident health records.
  • Conduct medication regimen/profile reviews and document recommendations.
  • Follow provincial and federal laws and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining and monitoring pharmacy inventory.
  • Participate in training and support for pharmacy team members and engage in continuing education.
  • Prepare compounding medications as needed and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements:
  • Licensed Pharmacist in Alberta and in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy.
  • One year's experience in a high-volume non-retail pharmacy setting (LTC, central fill, online pharmacy, specialty pharmacy) is preferred but not required.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time-management skills.
  • Excellent understanding of process and the ability to collaborate effectively.
