Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Harvest Cellar Hand to join our team at Quails' Gate Winery. As a key member of our cellar operations, you will play a vital role in the processing of grapes from receipt to pressing, destemming, pump overs, punch downs, fermentation monitoring, barrel work, and forklift operation.

About the Role

  • Assist in the harvesting and processing of grapes, ensuring high-quality fruit is received and processed efficiently.
  • Monitor and control fermentation temperatures, pH levels, and other critical parameters to ensure optimal wine quality.
  • Perform barrel work, including racking, topping, and cleaning, to maintain the health and quality of our wine stocks.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment safely and efficiently to move materials and supplies around the cellar.
  • Collaborate with our winemaking team to achieve our production goals and maintain a safe and healthy working environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a cellar or winemaking environment is an asset.
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
