We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a tenure-track academic appointment in the Faculty of Science at the University of Ottawa. The successful candidate will be appointed as a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Financial Mathematics.
About the PositionThe Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Financial Mathematics will be responsible for building research capacity in financial mathematics, supervising undergraduate and graduate students, engaging in interdisciplinary collaboration, and taking a leading role in developing undergraduate and graduate programs in financial mathematics.
Requirements- Ph.D. or equivalent in mathematics, probability, statistics, finance, data science, operations research, actuarial science, or other related fields.
- Proof of outstanding independent research achievements in the CRC's identified area(s).
- Solid record with respect to teaching and training of students at the graduate level.
- Strong record of external research funding.
- Excellent communication skills in either English or French.
- Passive knowledge of the other Official Language in Canada is a requirement for tenure.
