As a leading energy provider in British Columbia, FortisBC is committed to delivering renewable energy, natural gas, electricity, and propane to the province's energy landscape.

You will play a key role in supporting FortisBC's brand and business objectives as a Communications Insights Advisor.

Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement strategic communications briefs that provide insights for the external communications team to execute on.

You will work closely with business units to identify communications opportunities and collaborate with internal and external partners to incorporate insights into your work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing a thorough understanding of FortisBC's brand and business objectives to craft strategic communications briefs
  • Building working relationships with business partners across the organization and externally
  • Identifying internal department communications needs and supporting any issues that may arise
  • Participating in all aspects of communications projects, from briefing meetings to project launch
  • Acting as a trusted communications advisor, anticipating business partners' communications needs
  • Driving continued success and performance of communications campaigns and projects
  • Providing experience-based, judgement-driven advice, support, and coaching to leaders and employees

Requirements include:

  • A degree in communications, marketing, or a related discipline from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • A minimum of four (4) years related experience
  • Exceptional strategic-thinking skills with a focus on utilizing information to identify communications opportunities
  • Proven interpersonal skills to develop strong relationships with internal business partners and communications counterparts
  • Excellent collaboration skills to understand and identify communications opportunities and needs
  • Effective leadership, decision-making, and communication skills

FortisBC offers a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.

We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
