Position Overview

As a Landscape Maintenance Specialist at Elmwood Cemetery Company, you will play a vital role in maintaining the beauty and serenity of our outdoor spaces.

Education Requirements
  • No formal degree, certificate, or diploma required.
Work Environment
  • Primarily outdoors.
  • Exposure to noisy and hot conditions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the construction and enhancement of landscapes.
  • Perform weeding, pruning, and trimming of trees and plants.
  • Maintain lawns by cutting grass and collecting refuse.
  • Ensure cleanliness by removing litter and garbage.
  • Transport and distribute topsoil and other landscaping materials.
  • Plant various flora including bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees.
  • Excavate cemetery graves as needed.
  • Repair and maintain landscaping equipment.
  • Water and care for plants, lawns, and gardens.
  • Operate and maintain various landscape maintenance machinery.
Equipment Proficiency
  • Experience with small engine equipment.
  • Familiarity with tractors and tractor mowers.
  • Skilled in using weed trimmers/edgers and power mowers.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform repetitive tasks and handle heavy loads.
  • Physically demanding role requiring hand-eye coordination.
  • Engage in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling.

Experience
