Job Overview

We're seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join our product team, working primarily on our high-traffic Rails backends that serve millions of requests daily. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SaaS development, a passion for creating exceptional software, and a knack for solving complex problems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with the Product team to review product specs and create customer-facing and internal APIs.
  2. Build and maintain data import pipelines, analyze data to inform better predictions, and work on your Sprint backlog.
  3. Review pull requests, record product walk videos, and engage in low-latency pairing with other Engineers.
  4. Participate in scheduled calls and contribute to the development of high-quality software solutions.
Requirements
  1. 4+ years of full-time engineering experience.
  2. Experience collaborating with other engineers and fluency with our stack: Rails, MongoDB, Redis, and Sidekiq.
  3. Strong testing skills, self-motivation, and the ability to provide guidance and answers to complex questions.
  4. A fully functioning workstation, high-speed internet connection, and geographical location in the US, Canada, or Brazil.
Hiring Process

Our hiring process is designed to give you a taste of working at Chameleon as a Backend Engineer. It includes a fill-out application form, interview 1, a take-home exercise, a technical debrief interview, and an offer.

Timeline

We expect to reply to you within ~1 week of submitting the application form. Depending on your schedule, we hope to go from interview 1 to offer within 3 weeks.

We create a customized Onboarding doc corresponding to your Day 1, Week 1, Month 1 periods. You'll have a buddy and a coach to seek help from.
