Position Overview

Emcon Services Inc. is seeking a dedicated Snowplough Operator to ensure safe and efficient winter road conditions. This role involves operating specialized vehicles and equipment to maintain highways during adverse weather conditions.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary school or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is an asset, but training will be provided.
Work Environment
  • Cold and refrigerated conditions.
  • Exposure to hot, noisy, and damp environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform checks, lubrication, refueling, and cleaning of equipment.
  • Operate various vehicles and machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
Licenses and Certifications
  • AZ class license.
  • Air Brakes Endorsement.
  • Class 1/1F/A Licence for semi-trailer trucks.
  • Class 3/3F/DF Licence for vehicles with more than three axles.
  • DZ class license.
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
Equipment Experience
  • Experience operating snowploughs is required.
Safety and Security
  • Must pass a driving record check (abstract).
  • Drug testing is mandatory.
Transportation and Travel
  • Vehicle will be provided by the employer.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
Work Conditions
  • Attention to detail is crucial.
  • Physical capabilities include bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking is necessary.
  • Hand-eye coordination is essential.
  • Overtime may be required.
Weight Handling
  • Ability to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
