Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize advanced computational techniques and algorithms to analyze and interpret NGS datasets, encompassing whole-genome sequencing, exome sequencing, transcriptome sequencing, ChIP-seq, and other pertinent NGS applications. Conduct quality control, data preprocessing, alignment, variant calling, and annotation.
  • Design, implement, and refine AI and machine learning algorithms for the analysis of biological data, including but not limited to genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics.
  • Develop methodologies for integrating diverse biological data sources to extract significant biological insights, leveraging the strengths of various data modalities to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Create predictive models and computational frameworks to reveal intricate patterns in biological systems, applying them to risk prediction algorithms, disease detection and classification models, treatment response predictors, and discovery of disease mechanisms.
  • Employ advanced computational techniques to define, extract, validate, and characterize biomarkers relevant to diagnostic applications, utilizing multiomic data integration, feature selection methods, and predictive modeling approaches.
  • Contribute to the creation of software tools, pipelines, and computational resources for bioinformatics analysis, data visualization, and knowledge dissemination.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of scientists and researchers to address biological questions, formulate hypotheses, and devise computational strategies for hypothesis testing and validation of findings.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and bioinformatics research, incorporating relevant methodologies and techniques into project workflows.
Candidate Profile
  • Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, computer science, machine learning, or a related discipline, along with over 7 years of experience.
  • Demonstrate expertise in AI, machine learning, and statistical methods, particularly in their application to biological data analysis.
  • Exhibit proficiency in programming languages commonly utilized in bioinformatics and computational biology, such as Python or R, and possess experience with relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior postdoctoral or industry experience in computational biology, bioinformatics, or a related field is advantageous.
