About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Ground Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Transat. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our ground equipment and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on ground equipment and vehicles, including heavy and light vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair breakdowns on company trucks and vehicles.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on conventional and diesel engines.
  • Carry out mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on various equipment.
  • Perform welding tasks and other related duties.

Requirements

  • Training in vehicle mechanics or equivalent.
  • Experience in the mechanical field, including bodywork and welding skills.
  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting and blueprint reading.
  • Strong desire to learn all facets of the trade.
  • Team spirit, resourcefulness, ability to meet tight deadlines, and attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of propane, electric, diesel, and gas-powered equipment.
  • MOT card (Transport Canada Pass) and valid class D driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain RAIC card and DA drivers permit (Airport pass from Transport Canada).
