About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Designer to join our team at Motive. As a key member of our Technical Design Team, you will be responsible for leading the development of new design workflows and features, maintaining and owning systems and features during production, and ensuring a high-quality release by bug fixing, reviewing scripts, performance optimization, and creating a fun gameplay experience.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of new design workflows and features, collaborating with the Technical Design Team and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain and own systems and features during production, ensuring they meet the required standards and are well-documented.
  • Work closely with the design team to provide guidance on features and workflows, and serve as a principal point of escalation for designers and programmers.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and resolve technical issues, and ensure that design solutions are feasible and efficient.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, ensuring that it is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to ensure that code meets the required standards and is well-structured.
Requirements
  • Prior experience as a Technical Designer or Designer within the games industry, with a strong understanding of technical design processes, content creation, engines, tools, and pipelines.
  • Experience of the full cycle of AAA game development, including pre-production, production, and post-production.
  • Strong knowledge of visual scripting languages and experience with cross-disciplinary collaboration and bridging between creatives and engineers.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with designers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to receive and share constructive criticism, and to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
