ROLE OVERVIEW

The primary function of the ERP Financial Systems Analyst will be to address the operational needs of our current ERP system. This position serves as a crucial link between the Finance department and other teams, ensuring the system's financial and operational integrity. A deep understanding of business and financial processes is essential for this role, as it will facilitate active participation in the ongoing management and enhancement of the ERP system.

This role will also collaborate with other analysts, project managers, and solution architects to define and execute various initiatives. The ERP Financial Systems Analyst will be responsible for articulating project requests from the Finance department, which will be integrated into a broader planning process. Additionally, this position will oversee quality assurance functions within the business.

The analyst will engage in complex projects, providing cost-benefit analyses and metrics to assess project value and identify areas for improvement when necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Analysis

  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to establish clear business requirements for various initiatives.
  • Create detailed use cases and testing scenarios for the Finance department.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing in conjunction with project managers and solution architects.
  • Work with other analysts and user groups to ensure process and quality control.
  • Assist the Finance department in fulfilling operational audit requirements.
  • Develop current and future state process maps to enhance Finance operations.
  • Contribute to organization-wide process mapping efforts.
  • Conduct gap analyses to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Ensure that appropriate business process metrics are defined and monitored.

User Training

  • Assess the impact of changes on Finance users and develop training requirements.
  • Create a comprehensive training strategy and materials.
  • Deliver training sessions to business users as per the training plan.
  • Prepare user guides and procedures for the Finance team.

Post-Implementation Support

  • Provide necessary support to Finance staff in adapting to new solutions.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing to enhance efficiency.
  • Offer ongoing support post-implementation as needed.
  • Monitor ongoing business processes and address any issues or enhancements.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst with a focus on ERP systems and financial processes.
  • Certification as a Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or similar credentials is preferred.
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Experience with financial accounting systems, particularly ERP systems, is essential.
  • Familiarity with technology solutions and data management is beneficial.
  • Exposure to business applications, data warehousing, and project management is a plus.
