Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team through project procurement, bid process, and pre-construction with confidence and expertise.
- Work under pressure to meet strict deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Mentor and train junior estimating staff to ensure knowledge transfer and growth.
- Assemble detailed and well-organized budgets and estimates that meet project requirements.
- Work with various contract types, including Construction Management, Design Build, P3, and Lump sum.
- Organize sub-contractor quotes, re-write bid binders, and assist with the buy-out process.
- Monitor project success, assist with value engineering, and identify potential challenges.
- Build and maintain relationships with sub-trades for future opportunities.
- Distribute sub-trade quotes and budgets to personnel, flagging areas of concern and coordinating with management.
- Maintain databases for future reference, including labour rates, material pricing, and project costs.
Requirements:
- Construction-related degree or diploma and 8-10 years of experience in Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional construction estimating or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
- Advanced knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies, and techniques, and construction contracts.
- Extensive experience creating conceptual budgets.
- Ability to work effectively and accurately in time-sensitive situations while delegating to a team.
- Experience with estimating software (OST, costX).
- Eligibility for Security Clearance due to project requirements.
