Culinary Specialist Job Description

Alexandra Hospital Ingersoll is seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our dining services team, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals for patients, staff, and visitors
  • Manage kitchen inventory and supplies
  • Ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve dining services goals
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas

Requirements:

  • Cook Certificate or Red Seal Program certificate (license) preferred
  • Current Food Handlers certificate required
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent acceptable to the Hospital
  • Preference given to applicants with institutional cooking experience
  • Able to do heavy lifting, repetitive motions, and standing for long periods of time
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Established initiative and ability to work independently or as a team in a flexible manner
  • Demonstrated excellent attendance record and work ethic
  • Knowledge of computer software programs
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to privacy and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work all shifts as required, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
  • Hours of work are subject to change

Salary: $32.49 per hour to $33.19 per hour, as per the UNIFOR collective agreement
