The Group Benefits Advisor will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing and nurturing the comprehensive relationship with a portfolio of clients, providing strategic consulting insights, service execution, financial oversight, plan architecture, pricing tactics, trend analysis, renewal negotiations, and benchmarking.
  • Creating and executing strategies to enhance client retention.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients and key decision-makers.
  • Managing client expectations and effectively addressing any concerns or challenges.
  • Assessing the Group Insurance risks of clients and suggesting suitable plan designs and cost-saving strategies.
  • Formulating annual client plans to ensure the delivery of value-added services that align with client objectives.
  • Being accountable for the revenue and profitability associated with client accounts and projects.
  • Identifying innovative growth opportunities within the client portfolio through multi-product offerings and unique solution development.
  • Actively participating in the pursuit of new clients through leads generated from competitive bidding platforms, targeted networking, and referrals.
  • Managing client growth expectations in collaboration with the sales team.
  • Engaging in continuous education to maintain a high level of expertise in employee benefit regulations, administrative matters, plan guidelines, claims management, and client-specific protocols.
  • Participating in industry conferences and seminars to promote services and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Representing People Corporation in the marketplace and acting as a brand ambassador.
  • Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of the full range of People Corporation products and services.
  • Building and nurturing positive relationships with suppliers to foster strong partnerships for clients.
  • Collaborating effectively with colleagues and shared services across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Group Benefits within a client-facing or consulting role, delivering strategic and innovative solutions to complex benefits challenges.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Group Benefits sector, including funding and underwriting structures.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical capabilities, along with strategic planning, communication, and listening skills.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • A positive demeanor and a collaborative team player who engages well with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A results-oriented individual with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and deliver results as required.
  • Comfortable working with various technology platforms.
  • Willingness to complete the Life License Qualification Program within the specified timeframe.
  • Availability for travel as necessary.
  • A valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle.
  • Possession of or progress towards the Group Benefits Associate (GBA) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation is advantageous.
