We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) to join our Transfer Fleet team at PHSA. As an EMR, you will be responsible for providing patient care and transportation services to patients in need of medical attention.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care and transportation services to patients in need of medical attention.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and transportation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical procedures and protocols to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Current EMR license issued by EMALB.
- Class 1, 2, or 4 BC driver's license (or out-of-province equivalent).
- Current driver's abstract demonstrating a safe driving record.
- Work permit for Canada (or ability to obtain).
- Strong mental resiliency and maturity; highly functional in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of Canadian colonial impacts on Indigenous people in social and health contexts.
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Site Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls calls for justice.
- Supports team members on their learning journey, ensuring education strategy for team/department to implement Indigenous Cultural Safety at a practical level.
