Key Responsibilities: Ensure adherence to all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Promote and maintain effective accident prevention strategies by evaluating and suggesting enhancements to current practices. Guarantee timely reporting and investigation of all hazards, implementing necessary corrective actions. Provide a safe and healthy work environment through comprehensive training and effective communication regarding operational procedures and safety measures. Complete all required documentation including accident reports, inspections, audits, and safety observations, forwarding them to the designated personnel. Ensure compliance with all routine safety checks and inspections. Conduct daily safety briefings to relay safety information and address any concerns, documenting these discussions for the safety department. Collaborate with underground supervisors to develop daily, weekly, and monthly operational plans, ensuring resource availability. Identify and allocate necessary resources, including personnel and equipment, to meet production objectives efficiently. Ensure sufficient materials are on hand to optimize productivity. Understand and adhere to maintenance and production plans. Manage all maintenance schedules to support optimal operational performance. Organize daily activities to ensure effective use of personnel, equipment, and materials. Conduct physical inspections to verify that work meets established quality, production, and safety standards. Recommend improvements to enhance production methods and equipment efficiency. Ensure that all completed work supports the activities of subsequent shifts, facilitating effective communication during shift changes. Consistently enforce compliance with all applicable rules and regulations. Anticipate and resolve operational issues through proactive troubleshooting. Apply relevant disciplinary measures promptly when necessary. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Develop and implement a training plan to ensure all team members receive necessary training. Assess the need for job postings and initiate them as required. Maintain positive working relationships across departments and with contractors. Communicate effectively with management and team members to address issues and improve operational conditions. Participate in planning meetings to align on operational goals and strategies. Provide and receive constructive feedback to enhance team performance. Required Qualifications: At least 10 years of relevant trade experience, with a preference for candidates holding a Trades Ticket. Previous supervisory experience is highly desirable. U/G Common Core certification is preferred. A valid driver's license is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Commitment to Barrick's core values is expected. Ability to work safely and effectively in an underground mining environment is mandatory. Proven track record of good attendance and performance is essential.
