Job Summary

Shah Walia Transport Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating and driving straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. This is a Logistics Specialist role that requires attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and Unload Goods: Safely load and unload goods from trucks, ensuring that all materials are properly secured and accounted for.
  • Operate and Drive Trucks: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Inspect Vehicles: Regularly inspect vehicles to ensure that all equipment is in good working condition, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage.
  • Perform Pre-Trip, En Route, and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure that all aspects of the vehicle are functioning properly.
  • Communicate with Dispatch: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring that all communication is clear and concise.
Requirements
  • Driver's License: Possess a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Willingness to train and learn the skills required for this role.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Schedule: 35 to 40 hours per week.
