This full-time position is focused on leading the information security initiatives within the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust information security systems and technologies, as well as providing technical leadership across various projects.
Key Responsibilities1. Leadership and Guidance:
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and upkeep of cybersecurity defense mechanisms.
- Provide expert guidance on developing standards for securing systems and devices.
- Conduct comprehensive information security assessments and audits.
- Ensure compliance with established information security policies and procedures.
- Educate team members and stakeholders on best practices in information security.
- Assist in the recruitment process by preparing job descriptions and interview questions.
- Collaborate with management to ensure adequate coverage for security operations.
- Work closely with administrative staff to manage daily operations effectively.
- Serve as a resource for the Information Security Analyst regarding policy interpretation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
- Assign tasks to team members based on evolving requirements.
- Coordinate operational support for the Information Security Analyst.
2. Cybersecurity Oversight:
- Investigate and resolve information security incidents promptly.
- Ensure effective Host Intrusion Detection systems are operational.
- Maintain robust Network Intrusion Detection capabilities.
- Oversee log collection and analysis processes.
- Ensure secure identity and access management systems are in place.
- Develop test plans and conduct thorough system testing.
- Research and analyze existing security practices, recommending necessary adjustments.
- Monitor system hardening, upgrades, security patches, and malware protection.
3. Continuous Learning:
- Stay updated on trends and developments in the information security landscape.
- Maintain knowledge of emerging cybersecurity defense technologies.
- Keep abreast of information security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
4. Additional Duties:
- Participate in security risk assessments for third-party vendors and cloud solutions.
- Contribute to the development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Provide technical assistance and support to users as needed.
- Engage in internal and external meetings relevant to the role.
- Create and maintain documentation for both technical and non-technical users.
Required Education and Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- Two or more years of specialized training in Information Security.
- A minimum of five years of experience in Information Technology, with at least three years focused on Information Security.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of Information Security principles.
- Proven ability to lead projects and manage teams effectively.
- Strong collaborative skills and adaptability to changing information.
- Resourceful problem-solving abilities.
- Capacity to coach and motivate team members.
- Effective communication skills across various organizational levels.
- Experience in interpreting and advising on relevant policies and procedures.
