Primary Duties
- Oversee and manage litigation cases in collaboration with Clyde & Co partners and legal team, as well as clients;
- Offer legal counsel and guidance across various domains, notably in construction, civil liability, and professional responsibility;
- Collaborate with experts to formulate and articulate clients' positions effectively;
- Analyze and clarify complex legal, factual, and technical issues;
- Lead and conduct discovery examinations, either independently or as part of a collaborative team;
- Draft legal documents including motions, petitions, and other submissions to the Court;
- Present and defend various petitions and motions in Court, and engage in mediation and trial processes;
- Undertake additional responsibilities associated with this role or arising from new business initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Law degree from a recognized institution;
- Active member of the Barreau du Québec;
- 3 to 8 years of pertinent litigation experience, especially in insurance law, construction, commercial disputes, and professional liability;
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with proficiency in both spoken and written English and French, alongside an exceptional academic and professional background;
- Outstanding organizational, analytical, and summarization skills;
- Sound judgment and legal reasoning capabilities;
- Commitment to integrity, thoroughness, and attention to detail;
- Negotiation skills and business insight;
- Strategic thinking abilities;
- Capacity to build trusted relationships with clients and external stakeholders, as well as with partners, fellow lawyers, and all levels of firm personnel;
- Team-oriented mindset.
