Position Overview:
We are seeking two qualified individuals for the role of Senior Accounting Specialist. The first position is a full-time role with expected working hours of 8 hours a day from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, PDT, five days a week. The second position is part-time, requiring 15-20 hours of work per week.
The Senior Accounting Specialist is essential to the Corporate Accounting team, primarily concentrating on expense management, which includes processing vendor invoices, handling employee expense reimbursements, and performing account reconciliations. This role also involves supporting the Tax department with filing requests, preparing reports, confirming tax payments, and addressing any filing discrepancies. Furthermore, the Specialist will provide administrative assistance to the tax team while ensuring adherence to corporate accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable: Execute transactions, issue payments, verify services rendered, categorize transactions, and ensure precise entries in the accounting system.
- Reconciliations: Conduct timely reconciliations of accounts, ledgers, and daily balances.
- Month-End Close: Prepare and input adjusting journal entries.
- Procedural Development: Create, implement, and uphold corporate accounting procedures; contribute to the development of directives.
- Tax Support: Produce reports, gather invoices, verify tax payments, generate quarterly reports, and identify non-resident withholdings.
- Issue Resolution: Liaise with tax authorities to resolve filing issues and manage tax-related documentation.
- Administrative Support: Assist with document requests, mail processing, signature requests, and coordination of meetings.
- Cross-Functional Support: Provide backup assistance to other Senior Accounting Specialists as required.
Qualifications:
Must-Have:
- At least 5 years of experience in an accounts payable capacity.
- Strong accounting skills; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Collaborative team player with exceptional interpersonal and organizational abilities; keen attention to detail.
- Capability to maintain accuracy and high productivity under stringent deadlines.
- Sound judgment with a service-oriented approach; proactive with critical thinking capabilities.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with financial reporting and applicable accounting standards.
- Experience in complex, decentralized organizations, preferably within financial services.
- Proficiency with MS Dynamics NAV accounting software.
- Understanding of corporate income tax and indirect tax filings.
