Job Summary:
The NORM Labourer - Industrial Waste Management Specialist is responsible for assisting with the decontamination and disposal of Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) waste at our facility. This role requires a strong focus on safety and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the detection, surveying, handling, and decontamination of oilfield equipment and waste
- Clean equipment using high-pressure water blast equipment
- Sample, document, and store waste
- Maintain decontamination equipment and facilities
- Perform daily operations and inspections, and report results to meet client and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Basic computer skills
- Preference given to candidates with post-secondary education or oil field experience and relevant certifications (WHMIS, TDG Clear Language, Standard First Aid/CPR, H2S Alive, Confined Space Entry, and NORM Safety Training)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Self-confidence and interpersonal flexibility
- Ability to prioritize work and adhere to safety protocols
