Become a Part of Our Team at Trouw Nutrition We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician to join our workforce and report directly to the Plant Manager. The ideal candidate will be organized, self-driven, and responsible for the upkeep of our fleet of trucks and trailers, which includes brakes, suspension, steering, and oil changes. You will enjoy working with modern light trucks in our well-equipped workshop.

About The Position: Ensure the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery for optimal performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct maintenance, inspections, and mechanical repairs on the truck fleet.
  2. Perform routine preventative maintenance.
  3. Work on hydraulic systems and wiring for tractors and trailers.
  4. Adhere strictly to safety protocols.
  5. Manage repair scheduling, purchase orders, and maintenance records using computer systems.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician or 2-3 years of equivalent experience (knowledge and/or education accepted).
  2. Certification on ABS air brake systems.
  3. Class 1 with Air Brake License is preferred.
  4. Ability to regularly bend, twist, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  5. Strong learning capacity, accountability, execution, integrity, teamwork, respectfulness, and coachability.

  1. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also being a team player.

  3. Willingness to be on-call during evenings and weekends as needed.
