We are currently seeking a dynamic and innovative Retail Department Manager to lead our team and share our vision of providing superior quality products. Reporting directly to the Store Operations Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to be a hands-on business unit operator within our Halifax retail store.

The ideal candidate possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and is passionate about delivering our unique, on-trend products to our discerning clientele through a top-notch customer experience.

Qualifications:

• Three or more years of management or supervisory experience in a food service environment.

• Proven ability to manage people effectively, including strong leadership skills, organizational structure, communication, motivation, performance management, and succession planning.

• A deep understanding and passion for food and current food trends.

• Entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive approach to business.

• Strong creativity and a proven ability to innovate.

• Meticulous attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Exceptional customer service experience and ability.

• The ability to work calmly under pressure and handle challenging situations effectively.

• Financial acumen: the ability to meet and maintain high sales, wage targets, and profitability goals.

• Expertise in inventory management, including controlling counts, food costs, and waste reduction.

• Confidence, drive, energy, and enthusiasm.

• Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office Suite, Time and Attendance management software, and other relevant programs.

• Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.

• Vendor relationship management and purchasing skills (procurement, supply chain management).

• Organizational awareness and the ability to delegate effectively.

• Coaching skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with others, fostering collaborative relationships.

• A commitment to following through on commitments.

• Flexibility in scheduling.

• Ability to perform frequent heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).
