About the Role

The Fleet Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of Brandt's fleet assets, from procurement to disposal. This role will lead a team of professionals to work with various departments and vendors to ensure the optimal utilization and maintenance of the fleet.

This position requires a strong understanding of fleet management principles, including vehicle utilization, fuel management, and driver safety programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement and Maintenance: Manage the company's ordering and support of fleet vehicles, including upfitting, delivery, maintenance, repairs, registration, fuel, and insurance requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Provide coaching and direction to the Brandt Fleet team and interpret system data and reports to inform business decisions.
  • Fleet Management: Develop and implement fleet management policies and procedures, including vehicle utilization, fuel management, and driver safety programs.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, state, and local regulations related to fleet operations, including licensing, registration, and inspections.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective vehicle ordering, maintenance, and repair services.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date fleet management records and reports, including vehicle inventory, maintenance schedules, and fuel usage.
  • Operational Performance: Manage and report on operational performance of the fleet, including life cycle management, fuel consumption, and overall health of the assets.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Provide after-hours support and communicate maintenance requirements to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Cost Optimization: Analyze maintenance costs and/or repairs and provide expert recommendations to optimize fleet operations.
  • Budgeting and Planning: Assist in the development of a budget and provide input on fleet-related expenses.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in a fleet management role, with previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Education: 4-year post-secondary education preferred.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and troubleshooting skills, basic knowledge of fleet assets, and proficiency in MS Office and telematics software.
  • Communication: Excellent communication, interpersonal, time-management, and organizational skills are essential.
