Emergency Department Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at Fraser Health Authority. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with the interprofessional care team, and contributing to the development and implementation of care plans.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients and collect information from various sources to inform nursing diagnoses and develop care plans.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to develop and implement care plans that promote person-centered care.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and providing education to patients and families.
- Participate in the care and discharge planning process, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive care and are prepared for discharge.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to identify and resolve issues, adjust care plans as needed, and address changes in patient condition.
- Teach patients and families about illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance to support self-care and discharge planning.
- Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, interventions, patient responses, outcomes, and referrals according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of applicable post-graduate coursework in emergency nursing or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in emergency nursing.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and the interprofessional care team using verbal, written, and electronic communication means.
- Ability to promote person-centered care, demonstrating empathy, trust, and respect for patients and families.
- Ability to integrate and evaluate data from multiple sources to problem-solve effectively.
- Ability to teach and instruct patients and families about topics essential to their health care and well-being.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, collaborate with the interprofessional care team, and use factual information to support nursing decisions and actions.
