Key Responsibilities:
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to ensure a well-stocked kitchen.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to meet customer demands.
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to maintain high food safety standards.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment to optimize kitchen operations.
  • Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent oral communication skills to effectively train staff and communicate with customers.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing customer demands.
  • Judgement to maintain high food safety standards and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Organized to maintain inventory and records, and clean kitchen and work areas.
  • Reliability to ensure timely preparation and serving of meals.
  • Team player to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to meet customer demands.
  • Time management to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Work Environment:
  • Fast-paced kitchen environment with repetitive tasks.
  • Standing for extended periods to prepare and cook meals.
Language:
  • English is the primary language spoken in the workplace.
Work Schedule:
  • 35 to 40 hours per week.
