About This Opportunity

Job Summary: Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a full-time Family Medicine Physician to join our team at Guysborough Memorial Hospital.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive primary care to patients within the eastern zone
  • Participate in call and be available for on-call duties
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care
  • Operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority

  • Surgery consultation
  • Well men/women programs

Services Provided:

  • Addiction services
  • Continuing care services
  • Cardiac and respiratory services
  • Diagnostic imaging (including X-ray and EKG)
  • 24/7 emergency medicine
  • Laboratory services
  • Medical and surgical unit
  • Mental health and addiction services
  • Obstetrics and gynecology
  • Occupational therapy
  • Palliative care
  • Pediatrics
  • Physiotherapy
  • Public health services
  • Social work services

Remuneration:

This opportunity is compensated through a choice of Fee For Service or an alternative payment plan arrangement as per the Master Agreement between the Province of Nova Scotia and Doctors Nova Scotia.

Qualifications:

  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
