Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and mentor students in both clinical and laboratory environments.
- Collaborate with nursing lab personnel and course instructors to design and execute lab activities tailored for clinical groups.
- Facilitate the creation and execution of individualized student learning plans in collaboration with students.
- Assess student performance throughout their practicum placements in conjunction with the student and course instructor.
- Maintain detailed and regular anecdotal records regarding student development and promptly inform the course instructor of any significant or ongoing concerns.
- Grade all assignments assigned to the Clinical Instructor as outlined in the course syllabus.
- Organize and lead student meetings, including post-clinical discussions, and ensure the availability of necessary resources.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN); a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of three years of clinical experience across various healthcare settings, including medical-surgical, maternal-child, and mental health.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Proficient in managing challenging situations and identifying emergency scenarios.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations.
Additional Information:
- This is a part-time contractual position.
