- Identify and recruit community members with lived experiences to participate in engagement forums and activities across the region.
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate engagement events and activities, such as focused discussions.
- Establish formal and informal communication channels with patients, families, and caregivers to gather feedback on health system performance and to enhance health system processes and tools.
- Identify areas in planning and design processes where patients, families, and caregivers have not had the opportunity to contribute, and assist colleagues in creating avenues for their feedback.
- Build and maintain relationships with service providers and both internal and external partners as needed.
- Promote broader engagement with Indigenous, Francophone, and underrepresented communities.
Qualifications:
- A degree, certificate, or diploma in community or social services, health care, administration, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Three to five years of relevant experience in program coordination.
- A solid understanding of the mission, vision, values, and priorities of UNAVAILABLE, as well as the challenges and opportunities within the health care sector.
- Proven ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders through a health equity lens.
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to interact with tact and diplomacy to build rapport with patients, families, caregivers, staff, and partners.
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and sound decision-making capabilities.
- A comprehensive understanding of cultural, spiritual, and linguistic diversity.
- Expertise in engagement concepts, strategies, and the technical skills required for planning, executing, and evaluating engagement initiatives.
- Knowledge of current trends in engagement practices, including both in-person and virtual sessions.
- A good grasp of engagement policies and procedures, as well as patient and family-centered care philosophies.
Additional Assets:
- Professional experience in an engagement program, particularly within the health care sector.
- Personal experience navigating various services and supports within the health care system.
- Experience working with Indigenous, Francophone, racialized, Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+, disabled, and other underserved communities.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
What We Offer:

- Comprehensive compensation packages and benefits.
- Valuable opportunities for professional development.
- Membership in a defined benefit pension plan.
- A hybrid work environment.
