Job Summary

As a Program Management Consultant at Toronto Hydro, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of the Execution Work Program. This position requires a strong understanding of program management concepts and methodologies, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Forecasting and Planning: Develop and maintain accurate forecasts of spend and attainment for Capital and Maintenance projects/programs, ensuring alignment with client group objectives.
  • Consultation and Support: Provide expert consultation and support to client groups in addressing budget, schedule, and resource constraints, while maximizing the inclusion of high-priority projects and programs.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage risks that impact the successful delivery of programs for assigned client groups, ensuring timely mitigation and resolution.
  • Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Continuously monitor actual capital and operating spend and attainment, analyzing gaps between plan and actual results, and adjusting the Execution Work Program to ensure resources are fully utilized while meeting budget constraints and regulatory obligations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster collaborative relationships with various stakeholders, including Engineering & Investment Planning, Finance, Design, and Construction groups, and act as a liaison for all projects under assigned area of jurisdiction.
  • Program Outcomes and KPIs: Support the achievement of program outcomes and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for client groups and the Execution Work Program overall.
Requirements
  • Education: Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: Five (5) or more years of Project and/or Program Management experience.
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) or Program Management Professional Certification (PgMP) is an asset.
  • Skills: Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite, including MS Project, Access, Excel, and Visio. Advanced knowledge of Excel is an asset. Experience with data visualization and analytics software is also an asset.
  • Knowledge: General knowledge of electrical distribution system design, construction, maintenance, system operations, and risk management principles.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer-driven focus.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, including presentation skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial Acumen: Financial acumen with a solid understanding of estimating, budgeting, forecasting.
