Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Professor to teach a course on feminist, queer, and trans theories and practices about gender, identities, and embodiment at the University of Ottawa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach a course on feminist, queer, and trans theories and practices about gender, identities, and embodiment
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with the course objectives and learning outcomes
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Stay current with developments in the field and incorporate new knowledge and perspectives into the course

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in feminist or gender studies or a related field
  • Teaching experience with full responsibility for an undergraduate university course
  • Work and/or publications demonstrating knowledge and competence with respect to feminist, queer, and trans theories and practices about gender, identities, and embodiment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching courses on feminist, queer, and trans theories and practices
  • Knowledge of scientific and social constructions of the body, body modification, gender performance, trans activism, ableism, and resistance
