Position Overview: The Commercial Auto Underwriting Support Specialist plays a crucial role in managing all bind and endorsement requests for Commercial Auto insurance products. This position entails reviewing, upholding, and executing guidelines for commercial lines across various states, while collaborating closely with agents and wholesale brokerages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support underwriters in processing both new and renewal business.
  • Manage the underwriting endorsement inbox efficiently.
  • Issue policies and endorsements as directed by underwriters.
  • Establish and maintain policy files, ensuring follow-up on outstanding subjectivities and processing mid-term policy adjustments.
  • Proactively identify and request additional information necessary to complete assigned tasks.
  • Maintain professional communication with underwriters, as well as external production sources, agents, and brokers.
  • Assist with special projects and additional assignments as needed.
  • Support accounting and agents with billing inquiries.
  • Perform other related duties as required to meet the goals and objectives of the company and department.
  • Keep necessary processing manuals and reference materials updated to ensure accurate processing of assigned work.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively across all levels within the organization.
  • Capable of working both collaboratively in a team and independently.
  • Familiarity with policy wording and endorsement issuance processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Skilled in maintaining process manuals and reference materials for effective task execution.
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize daily responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
