Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director, Finance and Business Support to join our team at Accor. This is a key role that will provide financial leadership and support to our business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Planning and Analysis

Develop and implement financial plans and forecasts to support business growth and strategic objectives.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

Prepare and provide accurate and complete financial reports, including balance sheet account reconciliations and income statement analysis.

Financial Operations

Oversee the preparation and posting of daily journal and month-end journal entries, ensuring efficient completion of month-end functions.

Team Leadership

Develop and lead a high-performing team of financial professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of financial objectives.

Compliance and Risk Management

Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures, and manage internal and external audits by implementing recommended compliance report action plans.

Technology and Systems

Assist in the effective utilization and integration of hotel and accounting technology systems, including software applications, current and future.

Business Partnerships

Develop key relationships with department heads and senior managers to provide financial support and understanding of short and long-term financial plans.

Strategic Planning

Participate in the creation of the annual operating, capital budgets, and strategic plan, and monthly rolling operating forecasts.

Labour Management

Lead the labour management process within the organization, designing and implementing procedures to improve the accuracy of working schedules, labor standards, forecast, and plans.

Compliance and Governance

Assist in the safekeeping of all leases and contracts and other legal records and documents, and prepare and file various statutory returns, including sales and payroll taxes.

Requirements
  1. Education

Post-secondary education in business, finance, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Experience

3+ years of progressive work-related experience in multiple areas of accounting and reporting, financial and/or business analysis, accounting, or a related area, with several years of managing multi-discipline teams and/or complex projects.

Working Conditions

This role requires frequent standing and walking, occasional bending and kneeling, occasional lifting and carrying up to 20lbs, and occasional pushing and pulling.

Visa Requirements

The successful candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Accor is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
