The Role
- Product Development
- Develop new products and renovate existing products to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
- Lead and manage strategic projects within the team, focusing on the creation and introduction of innovative product lines.
- Project Management
- Manage all facets of bringing a product to market, including recipe development, formula creation, plan and equipment processing, costing, and meeting nutritional/health claims.
- Develop and implement efficient workflows for new product development, enhancing team productivity and fostering a culture of innovation.
- Technical Expertise
- Provide expert technical guidance on equipment capabilities and essential processing parameters to achieve optimal product quality.
- Oversee any ingredient substitution, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining business continuity during supply chain disruptions.
- Financial Management
- Oversee budgeting for plant trials and initial production runs, ensuring financial efficiency and resource allocation.
- Continuous Improvement
- Drive initiatives for continuous improvement, aiming to optimize processes, minimize waste, and boost overall performance.
Requirements
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science or related discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in the baking industry, with a strong knowledge of the baking process and the function of ingredients.
- Skills and Qualifications
- Up-to-date knowledge of trends in nutrition and health.
- Strong sense of young families and kids' taste and needs.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong proven ability to develop critical path in R&D to bring products to market.
