Operations Pharmacist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Pharmacist to join our team at Shoppers Drug Mart Inc. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in pharmacy operations and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Align with company policies and procedures to ensure high-quality pharmaceutical care.
  • Train and supervise dispensary staff to ensure seamless operations.
  • Assist in setting and achieving financial objectives for the company.
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory and ensure accurate patient profiles.
  • Perform technical, therapeutic, and electronic MAR checks to ensure medication accuracy.
  • Provide documentation and billing for pharmaceutical interventions and services.
  • Minimize medication incidents and follow protocol for reporting and resolving.
  • Participate in continuous learning activities and share relevant takeaways with staff.
  • Protect patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with regulations.
Requirements:
  • Licensed with the BC College of Pharmacists and in good standing.
  • Available to cover on-call services after hours on a scheduled rotational basis.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a pharmacist in a long-term care, retail, and/or hospital pharmacy setting.
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Superior organizational skills and commitment to exceptional customer service.
