We are in search of a Laboratory Analyst II within the Semi-Volatiles Department of the Organic Division. The successful candidate will manage all facets of sample preparation and analysis for PAH testing. Responsibilities will encompass sample extraction, preparation of standards and reagents, instrument upkeep, calibration, analysis, and troubleshooting, along with reporting test outcomes and undertaking any development tasks as directed by the Manager/Supervisor.
The role involves conducting chemical analyses utilizing various laboratory instruments and preparing samples for more intricate analytical testing methods.
As a LABORATORY ANALYST II, your key responsibilities include:
Conducting chemical analyses using diverse laboratory instrumentation and preparing samples for advanced analytical testing.
Primary Responsibilities:
Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and ensure compliance with established protocols. Prepare solutions, reagents, and samples for complex analyses. Maintain accurate analytical records (raw data, sample preparation logs, QC data) that are properly labeled and filed. Operate instruments such as mass spectrometers and gas chromatographs, ensuring up-to-date maintenance and daily operational records. Comprehend project requirements thoroughly before initiation, including sample quantity, type, identification, methodology, analysis procedures, QA/QC standards, and deadlines. Meet quality and turnaround time specifications as required by clients, ensuring samples are analyzed within holding time limits. Provide supervisors with updates on workstation status, including advance notice of any potential delays. Maintain control charts in accordance with QA manual requirements, monitor for compliance, develop corrective action plans, and review with Supervisor prior to implementation. May oversee the work of Analyst I and Lab Technician staff. Overtime and weekend work may be necessary. Additional duties as assigned.You are an ideal LABORATORY ANALYST II if you possess the following qualifications:
Technical diploma required; degree preferred. Background in Analytical Chemistry. Experience with GC/MS is preferred. Familiarity with standard operating procedures and instrumental techniques. Strong analytical laboratory skills. Excellent organizational abilities. Proficient in multitasking. Capable of working independently. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
